I wanted to put this Samsung Captivate Review together to help others who may be considering purchasing this phone. I looked long and hard to find a phone that would fit my needs and ultimately went with the Samsung Captivate. Here’s some of what I found with my research. Hope it helps you make the best possible decision.
First, let me say that I made many trips to the AT&T store to check this phone out, but I ultimately ended up buying the phone online because it was a ton cheaper. I bought the phone online for $69.99 (with renewed contract). I think they had the phone for $9.99 for new AT&T customers.
This one tip alone will make my Samsung Captivate Review worth reading as their prices will no doubt beat the $199 or more you will pay if you go to the AT&T store.

Pros
- Light weight and easy to use – A vast majority agreed that the phone is well designed and simple to figure out.
- Great features and simple controls – This phone comes with very helpful applications and tools that make it very functional for its users.
- Exceptional keyboard functionality for typing and texting – This phone makes email, texting, web browsing, and note-taking very easy and enjoyable.
- Very Strong Signal – This is a plus compared to the weaker iPhone 4 signal as it drops fewer calls.
- Visually and functionally appealing music application – This makes storing, finding, and playing your music a breeze.
Cons
- Battery life (typical with most any smart phone) – Far and away, this is the most annoying feature as the battery typically lasts only one day for the moderate to heavy user. I find that if I charge the phone each night while I sleep, this usually gets me through the next day without problems.
- Lack of cases – I have found that there isn’t a really good case market for the Samsung Captivate. I really like the Body Glove for the Captivate, but past that, I haven’t found many cases I like.
Clearly, the weight, features, ease of use, and simple controls stood out as why people most like the phone. There were 135 people who said the signal seemed strong for them while 31 actually said the signal was weak.
Obviously, the feature most disliked is the poor battery life which actually seems to be an issue with most smart phones. Based on my own experience, I charge my phone each night and I never run out of battery during the day. I am an average user though, so for someone who is on their phone all the time, this could be more of an issue.
Overall, it appears that people’s Samsung Captivate reviews show the phone to be very reliable for all the essential uses that most people want in a phone. I guess that is why it scores 4.5 out of 5 stars.
